What documents are required for SIM activation?
There is a list of documents that are valid for SIM activation as laid down by the telecom regulatory authority of India[TRAI]. To check the list:
- Aadhar Card
- Election Commission ID Card
- Passport
- Driving Licence
- Ration Card with Photo
- Arms License
- CGHS/ECHS Card
- Current Passbook of Post Office or any Scheduled Bank
- Photo ID Card with address issued by Central or State Government or PSU
- Pensioner Card with address
- Freedom Fighter Card with address
- Kisan Passbook with address
- Address Card with photo issued by Department of Post, Government of India
- Caste & Domicile Certificate with Address & Photo issued by State Government
- Certificate of address having photo issued by MP or MLA or Group A Gazetted Officer in letter head
- Certificate of address with photo from Government recognized educational institutions, applicable only for students
- Certificate of address issued by Village Panchayat Head or its equivalent authority, applicable only for rural areas

- Provide original ID proof that needs to be digitally submitted
- Live image in white background to be clicked at time of delivery
What if I am NRI or a foreign customer?
If you are an NRI, you should have documents of the city where you want a connection as required by TRAI guidelines.
Foreign customers may not be able to get a SIM card delivered from simwala.org. but the same might be available for them at a physical store.
